Photographing people is perhaps one of the most challenging but satisfying aspects of being a photographer. The challenge is establishing a relaxed atmosphere for the sitting and then conveying an idea of the person being photographed. The portraits below are all of people I  know and like. When at art school I spent a lot of time photographing students and staff and these pictures appear in our Guildford book. The picture of Joy Thomas  at Sutton Place was responsible for the creation of the book after it was spotted on my earlier web site.
